"After a walk along the South Downs Way, the garden of this very pretty pub is a restful place to enjoy a drink or lunch, and the views are lovely. The main bar has high-settles on flagstones, beams over the serving counter festooned with sheep bells and shepherds' tools (hung by the last shepherd on the Downs), and walls decorated with a mixture of prints and paintings. The lounge bar has many antiques and artefacts collected by the owners on their world travels; there are log fires in both bar and two in the no smoking restaurant."
